Imperial Knights Lysithea

Church of Proteus priest, Route 1 healer, and the mercenary you hire back after the catacombs.

Lysithea

Lysithea (リシテア, voiced by Kotone Arumi / 琴音有波) is the Church of Proteus priest on Kagura’s Steam page and the Route 1 healer. Japanese charts class her as a high priest: water magic, party heals, Dispel, Weapon Bless, and later Mina Heal. If a guide says “keep a healer through Mud Poison,” it means her. This page is join timing, kit, the Protea subplot, and the mercenary re-hire. Rankings live on the party tier list. Availability tables live on party and mercenaries.

Steam art puts her in white-and-blue priest clothes with a staff. The North Road rescue screenshot — blue-haired caster versus plant monsters — is this kit, not Tear’s lightning.

How she joins (Route 1)

Pay the guild fee yourself. After the dress sale, take the first request and walk Maldonia North Road (map). Deeper in the grove, plant monsters (aphrodisiac flowers) are attacking a woman. Win that fight to recruit Lysithea. She arrives with a couple of Repair Kits, a Half Magic, and an Attack Ring — equip her immediately; the engine does not auto-wear story gifts well.

Losing the rescue is a defeat scene, not a game over, but you walk into the Alraune three-pack without a healer. Alraune is about 2,000 HP, weak to fire, and the pack is a stamina check. A brand-new Diana plus Lysithea plus a Defense Ring is the intended math. A brand-new Diana alone is a crest roll. Details: getting started and the walkthrough.

She is not a Route 2 facility regular and not a Route 3 mine regular. Other campaigns can still hire her after you have cleared Route 1 — that is New Game+. On a first Route 3 file she also appears as a quest-specific hire for the search-party and sleeping-prince jobs; see guild quests.

What she actually does in battle

  • Role. Healer and buffer. She is not your damage floor; Diana and Tear are.
  • Heal / Mina Heal. Single-target early, party-wide later. Mud Poison’s poison ticks and Demon Svalt’s four-fight chain are why people call her mandatory.
  • Water kit. Water Guard helps status resist before Spirit Cave. Elemental wheel is fire > earth > wind > water > fire; do not expect her to melt Alraune.
  • Dispel / Weapon Bless. Utility that the combat page assumes you have once the cardinal starts regenerating.
  • Armor-break. She uses the female costume layer. Repair Kits are still out-of-combat. If she is bound, you lost your heal button for a turn — another reason male mercenaries exist as sponges.

Put her in a slot your fingers can find. Formation is a cursor problem during AoE. Give her the sleep-null card before the basement mage; cards do not float back to Diana when a temp walks.

Protea and why she leaves

Lysithea’s personal plot is the Church of Proteus and a saint locked in the holy capital. That is the cathedral basement / catacombs cluster: herbal medicine, cardinal, Demon Barnia, Lea joining, then a forced party wipe to Diana alone. Lysithea and Lea register as mercenaries at Maldonia’s guild. Hire them back the same visit (level × 100 G each). If you skip the desk and walk into Seikuri as a solo, that is a player error.

Strip her gear on the catacomb stairs. Unique rings and the sleep-null card will otherwise vanish into a cutscene.

After that she is a board unit for the rest of the file: Spirit Cave, Ether Knight escort, Svalt, castle basement. Story will not auto-add her again. The characters hub repeats this because it is the number-one “my healer disappeared” report.

Who she is next to

Kagura’s English bio: a kind priest who still takes up the sword, hunting a way to free a saint the church locked up and put through “something terrible.” She is the Route 1 face of the church as an ally. Tear is the Route 1 face of the Ether Knights as an employer. Diana is the civilian trying to stand between them. That triangle is why Route 1 feels like the tutorial campaign and why Routes 2 and 3 feel like different games — they simply do not give you this person for free.

She is one of Steam’s three highlighted portraits with Diana and Tear. Japanese materials still count seven story heroines; Lysithea is the one you should not leave on the bench after you have paid for her.

Practical advice

  1. Rescue her on North Road. Reloading for the grove is cheaper than a healer-less Alraune.
  2. Buy her a real staff in Silved. Story leftovers are not a build.
  3. Unequip before Barnia’s exit. Hire the same day at Maldonia.
  4. Poison Rings on her too before Spirit Cave. Healers who die to 25% ticks cannot Mina Heal.
  5. On NG+ Route 2/3, she is often the first hire, even if the plot just handed you Tania or Ellis.
  6. For lighthouse / arena / casino flags you may bench her on purpose. For bosses, do not.

Lysithea is the reason Route 1 teaches systems instead of teaching game overs. Treat the North Road scream as a recruitment tutorial, and treat the catacomb desk as the same tutorial a second time.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the questions Imperial Knights players ask first.

Can I recruit Lysithea on Route 2 or 3?

Not from the North Road rescue. Clear Route 1 first, then hire her as a mercenary on later files. Some Route 3 jobs also want her in the party.

Why did Lysithea leave after Protea?

The catacombs force a solo stretch. She registers at the guild. Pay level times 100 G and an open slot to bring her back.

Is Lysithea the protagonist?

No. Diana Ashley is the only guaranteed slot. Lysithea is the Route 1 healer.

What does Mina Heal do?

Party-wide healing. It is why she stays S-tier on the party tier list from the grove to Reinhardt.
