Imperial Knights Kagura patch
v1.00 Steam/GOG extra-content patch: mirrors, folder rules, and what it does not do.
Kagura Games ships two layers for Imperial Knights. Steam sells a storefront build with Cloud saves and the English/Japanese/Chinese UI listed on the app page. Kagura’s own store sells a DRM-free Windows copy and, after purchase, a Steam and GOG Patch v1.00 hosted on their product page. This wiki explains how to apply that patch and how it relates to the DLC that already shipped on the Japanese original.
We will not host patch files. We will not walk through circumvention. If you do not own the game, the official links page is the only next click.
Why a patch exists
Kagura’s adult RPG ports often split a storefront-safe package from an optional extra-content patch. The patch is documented in public on the Imperial Knights product page, with the legal line that it may only be used outside Japan. That is Kagura’s rule, not a wiki invention.
What the patch is for:
- Restore or add adult scenes and costume variants that the storefront build trims or gates.
- Align a Steam or GOG install with the “full” Kagura copy so recollection lists match Japanese charts.
What the patch is not:
- Not a performance fix. Hitching menus are an MV runtime issue — see controls.
- Not a Route 4. The three-route split is already in the base game.
- Not the August 2026 Japanese DLC pack (extra guild jobs, extra bind modes). DLC is a separate product; we cover it on DLC notes.
- Not a trainer, cheat table, or Steam achievement unlocker.
If your only goal is to finish Route 1 and become an Ether Knight, the unpatched Steam copy is enough. Combat, maps, and the ritual in how to become an Ether Knight are not patch-gated.
Before you download anything
- Own Imperial Knights on Steam, GOG, or Kagura’s store.
- Install it once and boot to the title screen so folders exist.
- Open Kagura’s product page while logged in. Patch mirrors are listed under the Patch tab as Imperial Knights Steam and GOG Patch v1.00.
- Read Kagura’s generic patch instructions. They apply across their catalog (copy files into the game directory, overwrite when asked, do not mix locales).
- Backup your
www/save(or Steam userdata) folder. MV saves are tiny; copying them takes seconds.
Kagura lists multiple mirrors plus a Google Drive backup. If one mirror 404s, try the next. Do not download a “Imperial Knights patch” from a random forum that is not linked from Kagura.
Install order that does not brick a folder
- Verify the Steam install (Steam → Properties → Installed Files → Verify).
- Close the game. Close Steam overlay tools that lock files.
- Unzip the official v1.00 patch.
- Copy its files into the game root (
steamapps/common/Imperial Knightsor the Kagura DRM-free folder). Overwrite. - Boot, open Recollection / Gallery / CG menus, and confirm new thumbnails appear.
- Only then start a new route if you were waiting to album-complete.
If you patch before the first launch, some MV titles recreate vanilla www folders and look unpatched. Launch once vanilla, then patch.
Steam Cloud versus a patched folder
Cloud will happily upload a patched save. A second PC with an unpatched install may then load that save and miss resources. Keep both PCs patched, or keep Cloud off while you experiment. Kagura DRM-free installs do not use Steam Cloud; do not paste Cloud saves into that tree without testing on a copy.
Family Sharing a Steam copy does not grant Kagura-store patch downloads. The patch tab is tied to Kagura accounts that bought the game there, or to the instructions Kagura publishes for Steam owners — follow their current wording, not a screenshot from 2024.
How this interacts with DLC
Japanese DLsite DLC (21 August 2026) added:
- One high-difficulty guild quest per route.
- Extra defeat scenes.
- Extra bind attack modes per heroine.
Whether those files are already inside the English Steam build, sold as a Steam DLC, or folded into Kagura’s patch can change after launch. Check Steam launch notes and DLC for the current English packaging. Do not assume a v1.00 zip includes DLC just because the numbers sit near each other on a calendar.
Troubleshooting
- No new CGs. Wrong folder (you patched
steamappsinstead of the game root), or you are looking at a Route 1 gallery before those scenes exist. Galleries fill per cleared route plus leftover guild jobs. - Game will not start. Restore from verify, then re-copy the patch. Mixed Japanese/English zips are a common self-own.
- Saves vanished. You launched a second copy from a different directory. MV save paths are per install.
- Antivirus quarantined the zip. Kagura’s mirrors are HTTPS from their domains. If a third-party zip trips a heuristic, you grabbed the wrong file.
For keyboard and resolution issues, stay on controls. For “is the game worth patching,” the review talks about the 18+ layer without a file list. Once the patch is in, go back to playing: getting started if you have not joined the guild, walkthrough if you have.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the questions Imperial Knights players ask first.
Do I need the Kagura patch to finish Imperial Knights?
No. Story routes, Ether Knight, and combat all exist in the Steam storefront build. The patch adds extra adult content.
Where do I download the patch?
From Kagura Games' Imperial Knights product page (Patch tab, v1.00). This wiki does not mirror the files.
Can I use the patch in Japan?
Kagura's page states the patch may only be used outside Japan. Follow their license, not a wiki workaround.
Is the patch the same as DLC?
No. DLC is extra quests and combat variants. The v1.00 patch is Kagura's storefront extra-content zip. See DLC notes.
Is there a Chinese patch for Imperial Knights?
Yes. Community translation patches are available from third-party sources like KaguraFan. The Chinese patch v1.02 (approximately 4.5GB) was released on 28 August 2026 and works with both Steam and GOG versions. Note: community translations are separate from Kagura's official English/Japanese/Simplified Chinese build.
